Nick Sablan is SGA March Ace of the Month winner

Super senior Nick Sablan again turned back the hands of time to win the Saipan Golfers Association March Ace of the Month Tournament after shooting a net 72 last March 27 at the Kingfisher Golf Links in Talafofo.
The 69-year-old with a superb 6 handicap shot a gross of 78 built around a front nine of 40 and a back nine of 38 to rule the monthly tournament.
Joe S. Demapan actually tied Sablan with his identical net 72 but lost via scorecard tiebreak. The 19-handicapper had splits of 45 and 46 to finish with a gross score of 91. Third place went to Alex Tudela who fired a net 73 after completing the course with a raw 82 (41-42).
By winning the March tourney, Sablan now joins early monthly winners Edward C. Sablan (January) and Frances M. Sablan (February) in the 2022 SGA Ace of Aces Tournament set for the end of the season.
In the closest to the pin, competition, Sablan was without peer in hole No. 6, Bill Quitano duplicated the feat in hole Mo. 12, while Jung Eun Teack won in hole No. 15.
Sablan was also the winner in the longest drive in hole No. 9. Teack joined Sablan as double option play winners by bringing out the lumber in hole No. 9.
