Karidat accepting applications for rental assistance

Karidat was able to process 600-plus applications for rental assistance on the previous waiting list. Starting this week, Sept. 8, 2020, it will begin accepting new applications for rental assistance. For us to serve applicants in a timely manner, have all the required documents ready for processing, All documents must be submitted within four business days after a caseworker has contacted you. We will accept 50 new applications per week. This is in order to process the applications in a timely manner. If you have any questions, contact us at 234-6981 or 234-5248. 5.4-magnitude earthquake in Guam

At 10:54am on Sept. 8, 2020, a report of a 5.4-magnitude earthquake occurred at 13.113°N 144.297°E in the Guam region. Currently, there are no tsunami warnings or advisories from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. For more information, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 237-8000. (PR)

4.8-magnitude earthquake in the CNMI

At 6:10pm on Sept. 7, 2020, a report of a 4.8-magnitude earthquake occurred 142 kilometers southeast of San Jose Village in the Northern Mariana Islands. Currently, no Tsunami warnings or advisories are issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. For more information, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 237-8000. (PR)

6.6-magnitude quake in Vanuatu

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.6 occurred in the Vanuatu Islands at 4:13pm last Monday, Sept. 7, 2020. Based on all available data, there is no tsunami threat to Guam, Rota, Tinian or Saipan from this earthquake. (PR)
