MHS sets College Fair tomorrow

Marianas High School will be hosting a College Fair tomorrow, Sept. 16, 2014, at the MHS Gymnasium. MHS students will be entertained from 10:30am to 12:40pm. The fair will then be open to the public from 4pm to 7pm.

Colleges include Stanford University (brochures only, no representative), University of Portland, Fairleigh Dickenson College, Waseda University, Linfield College, Nagoya University, University of Pennsylvania, Loyola Marymount University, Chamindae University, University of Guam, Temple University of Japan, University of Hawaii Manoa, Ritsumeikan University, Linfield College, Northern Marianas College, College Access Challenge Grant, and the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education. A. Samoa hotel pays $21K in back wages

American Samoa-based Dateline Industries Inc., doing business as Sadie’s Hotels, has agreed to pay $21,314 in back wages to 89 hotel and restaurant employees. Wage and Hour Division investigators found that the employer improperly deducted costs for required uniforms, causing pay rates to fall below the applicable minimum wage of $4.50 per hour in American Samoa’s hotel and restaurant industry. MHS PTA meeting on Wednesday

All Marianas High School parents, teachers and students are invited to attend the first PTA meeting for this school year on Wednesday Sept. 17, 2014. at 6:30pm in the MHS Dolphin Theatre. The meeting will include reports from the MHS administration and the MHS Student Council about their plans for the new school year as well as elections of 2014-2015 PTA officers. (MHS)
