HONOLULU—Christopher A. Warren will be officially installed as the Saipan postmaster at a special invitation-only program scheduled for 10am on Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the lobby of the Saipan Post Office.

The brief installation program will feature remarks by Honolulu-based USPS District Manager Greg Wolny and Manager, Post Office Operations Felix Bagoyo and will culminate in the administration of the Postmaster’s Oath of Office to Warren by USPS Director of Asia-Pacific Relations Leo Tudela.

Warren replaces former Saipan postmaster James Constable, who transferred to a position as postmaster of the Pahoa Post Office in Hawaii.

As Saipan postmaster, Warren supervises seven postal employees at the Saipan Post Office and oversees the operations of the Capitol Hill, San Vicente, and Tinian Contract Postal Units. He is responsible for the daily distribution of an average of 5,000 pieces of mail to more than 6,200 PO Boxes. He also collaborates with Guam- and Honolulu-based USPS officials in the management of the Postal Service’s complex and challenging Pacific Islands transportation network.

Warren was born and raised in Ohio and began his postal career 26 years ago as a rural mail carrier at the Piqua (OH) Post Office. Prior to his appointment as Saipan postmaster, he had served as a Customer Services Supervisor on Guam and Officer-in-Charge of the Guam Main Postal Facility.

“I’m honored and humbled by this opportunity,” said Warren. “My goal is to maintain the high standard of delivery for the residents and business communities of Saipan and Tinian.

“I want to thank District Manager Wolny and Manager of Post Office Operations Bagoyo for their faith and trust in selecting me for this position. I also want to thank Asia-Pacific Relations Director Tudela and the Honorable Congressman Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) for their guidance and assistance with our Typhoon Soudelor recovery efforts. Last, but certainly not least, I’d like to express my appreciation for the dedicated employees of the Saipan Post Office, for their continuing extraordinary efforts to serve our customers during our recovery. I am grateful to be a part of their team.”

Warren currently resides in Chalan Kanoa Village and is a member of the Saipan Stamp and Coin Club. (USPS)
