The Northern Marianas Humanities Council, which awards competitive grants every year, has new grant cycles submission for the year 2015 for those organizations in need of grants.

The submission dates for all type of community grants are Dec. 31, 2014, March 30, 2015, June 30, 2015, and Sept. 30, 2015.

“The Humanities Council wants to advise the public regarding new submission deadlines for community grant applications for the 2015 grant cycle,” said program officer Eulalia Villagomez.

Villagomez said that the council meets in regular sessions in January, April, July, and October with the board members and announces grant decisions with 30 to 45 days of the grant deadline.

The council awards these grants to any non-profit organization, institution, group or ad hoc committee and also supports a wide range of humanities projects consistent with the goals and objectives of its strategic plan.

“Our purpose is to promote understanding and appreciation of the humanities in the NMI. Making use of funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the council awards grants projects,” Villagomez said.

Grant guidelines and forms can be obtained from the Humanities Council office in Springs Plaza, Gualo Rai, or downloaded from the council’s website, www.northernmarianashumanities.org
