New Chinese restaurant opens in Garapan
Diners looking for quality Chinese restaurants on Saipan that offer mouth-watering food and quick service for any occasion have a new option: the Dragon Garden Delicacies in Garapan.
The new restaurant had its humble opening on Tuesday at its prime location behind Duty Free Shoppers in Garapan beside the Sisi Beauty Salon.
The menu at Dragon Garden Delicacies covers a wide range of Chinese specialties prepared by a seasoned chief cook and his assistants who all previously worked at the defunct Ming Palace and Gourmet Restaurant.
With eight round tables covered with gold-colored linens, Dragon Garden Delicacies is perfect for receptions and can accommodate 80 people.
“Our target market are local and tourist customers who love good, quality Chinese food,” according to restaurant manager Annie Zhang. “Our goal is to provide quality delicacies.”
Some of the popular food they offer are Hong Kong-style fried shrimps, deep fried pork ribs with garlic sauce, Peking duck, steamed egg-white seafood, sweet and sour fish, and deep fried scallops with pepper salt.
When asked why they opened the restaurant at a time when the economy is shaky, Zhang said that with many quality Chinese restaurants closing one after another, the island needs a new restaurant to fill the vacuum.
“We firmly believe that the economy has hit the bottom and there’s nothing to go but up again,” Zhang said.
The manager said their customers are guaranteed quality food, thanks to their seasoned cooks.
“We also have well experienced waitresses to provide good service. We have well experienced management to make sure customers are satisfied,” said Zhang.
Most importantly, prices at Dragon Garden Delicacies are very affordable. The restaurant is open daily from 11am to 2pm and from 6pm to 10pm. Customers can call at 233-7888.
