New car and $30K up for grabs in vaccination raffle
The CNMI government is sweetening the pot to convince more people to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus by offering a brand-new 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport sports utility vehicle as a grand prize in a raffle that also features weekly cash prizes worth a total of $30,000.
The raffle, which is part of government’s vaccination campaign, “Road to 80,” which refers to the goal of having at least 80% of the CNMI’s eligible population be fully vaccinated in order to achieve herd immunity, will hand out weekly cash prizes until the grand prize drawing on Aug. 28.
The raffle is a collaboration among the Office of the Governor, the Marianas Visitors Authority, Joeten Enterprises, Inc., Bridge Capital, LLC, and TanHoldings. More details on the raffle itself, its terms and conditions, and how to qualify for the raffle will be detailed soon.
Learned through Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. chief executive officer Esther Muña earlier said the CNMI’s target is to have 80-85% of the eligible population fully vaccinated in order to claim herd immunity, a form of indirect disease/infection protection that is achieved when a certain percentage of a population is vaccinated, reducing the chances of community spread and allowing those with no immunity to remain healthy without receiving a vaccine shot or being exposed to disease.
Those wishing to receive their COVID-19 vaccinations can schedule an appointment online at vaccinatecnmi.com or over the phone at 682-SHOT (7468).
