Saipan magician Neil “The Island Showman” Fama is ready to make magic happen this holiday season.
Fama, who specializes in close-up magic, said his passion for magic tricks and illusions are powered primarily by his desire “to share the art of magic with the people of the CNMI and promote the value of performing arts to the community.”
He intends to do just that with his entertainment business, Fama Llama Productions LLC, which accepts bookings for any event that needs the razzle-dazzle of a magic show.
Whether you want to make your child a superstar on his or her birthday, or need an energetic source of entertainment to impress all your guests at your private event, Fama’s skills in the art of illusion can help make your special occasion even more magical.
Fama has also done shows for older audiences. In fact, he won the top prize at the CNMI’s Got Talent contest back in 2017, bagging the Governor’s Choice Award.
He has worked in island venues such as Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Saipan World Resort, the Pacific Islands Club, Saipan Vegas, DFS T-Galleria, Latte Built Fitness 24-hour Gym, and many more. In addition, Fama has worked several shows on Tinian, appearing several times in annual festivals and events.
Starting off back in 2017 as a card magician, Fama was mentored by former SandCastle illusionist, Leon Etienne, who is currently traveling around the world performing his “Magic Rocks!” show.
Fama is no stranger to the business sector, as Fama Llama Productions LLC is under the Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s network of private businesses. “It is a great opportunity to be a member, as it provides me a greater network with potential businesses that could work with my business in the future,” he said.
Fama has also done street shows in the past, performing at the Thursday Street Market and at the Paseo de Marianas in Garapan.
Although Fama’s business is currently centered around the arts of magic, Fama Llama Productions LLC is looking to potentially open its doors to anyone who is interested in theater production such as camera work, lighting, sound, etc. In the past Fama has worked with other performers such as Saipan Studio 29:11, Simon “Juggles” Necessito, and MHS Rhythm and Harmony Glee Club.
Earlier this year, Fama held his debut magic show, “Neil Fama: The Island Showman Live,” at the Hyatt Regency Saipan ballroom. Fama described the show as a great experience for a first run and is excited to announce a new project is in development.
“I have spoken to potential clients about working on a close up show and we are hoping to have two-night shows by mid-2020,” Fama said.
He is also looking forward to assembling a small crew for the project. “For those interested in working with me as a crew, you can contact me for the details,” he said.
In addition, for those who have worked with Fama in the past, he is opening the opportunity of providing a discount for return customers.
