SANTA RITA, Guam—U.S. Naval Base Guam Security, Military Working Dogs and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Teams were dispatched immediately to the scene after the Regional Dispatch Center notified NBG of a bomb threat at approximately 10am Friday at the Department of Defense Education Activity High School—Guam High School—located on the Naval Hospital Guam compound.

Children and teachers were evacuated from the school and relocated a safe distance away. The explosive-detection dogs were able to conduct a thorough internal and external sweep of the school, with negative results of a bomb. The “all clear” was provided on scene at approximately 11:30am, but children were delayed momentarily outside the school for safety concerns before being let back into the building.

The threat was determined to be a hand-written note found in the girl’s bathroom.
