Naval Base Guam to launch Installation Base Shuttle Program

SANTA RITA, Guam—U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) will launch an Installation Base Shuttle Program on Jan. 28 in an effort to provide pedestrian safety, ensure readiness of our deployed forces and permanently assigned warfighters, and offer consistent, predictable, and reliable transportation.

An Installation Shuttle Program will provide benefit and ease of access to the installation’s medical resources, as well as Quality of Life resources for over 4,100 permanently assigned warfighters and over 36,000 deployed personnel operating between NBG, NBG-Polaris Point, and NBG-Naval Hospital Guam.

The shuttle service may be provided for:

Military personnel and Department of Defense (DoD) employees.

Enlisted personnel traveling between berthing, places of duty, and dining facilities.

DoD contractor personnel conducting official business.

Employees of non-DoD Federal Agencies on official business on a space available basis only.

DoD personnel and dependents who require additional support (medical, commissary, and religious) which directly affects health, morale, and welfare of the family.

There will be two shuttles: one for main base and another shuttle for Sailors and eligible personnel who require safe transportation to NBG-Naval Hospital Guam and NBG- Polaris Point when applicable.

The Hours of Operation for the shuttle to Main Base, Naval Hospital and Polaris Point are as follows:

a. Shuttle Operations: Monday – Friday

(1) Main Base: 5:30am-8pm

(2) USNH Guam, and Polaris Point (when applicable): 6am-6pm

b. Shuttle Operations: Saturday

(1) Main Base: 5:30am-8pm

(2) USNH Guam, and Polaris Point (when applicable): 5:30am-6:30am, and 7pm-8pm

c. Shuttle Operations: Sunday

(1) Main Base: 5:30am-7pm

(2) USNH Guam, and Polaris Point (when applicable): 5:30am-6:30am, and 7pm-8pm

d. Shuttle Operations: Holidays

(1) Main Base: 5:30am-6pm

(2) USNH Guam, and Polaris Point (when applicable): 5:30am-6:30am, and 7pm-8pm

Main Gate Loading Area (Boller VET Clinic) to Bus Stop 577 (Camp Covington)

Bus Stop 577 (Camp Covington) to Victor Welcome Area Structure 6020 (near U.S. Naval Base Guam Security Detachment)

Structure 6020 to Bus Stop 7012A (in front of Wendy’s)

Bus Stop 7012A to Bus Stop 2122-A (Port Operations)

Bus Stop 2122-A to Mini-NEX

Mini-NEX to Bus Stop 73 (Unaccompanied Housing Area)

Bus Stop 73 to Charles King Fitness Center

Charles King Fitness Center to Bus Stop 7012A (Wendy’s)

Bus Stop 7012A (Wendy’s) to Navy Exchange (Hours for this bus route: 9am-8pm, Monday – Saturday; 9am-7pm, Sunday; and 9am-6pm, on holidays)
