Napa Auto Parts saved the best for last to cruise to victory over Blue Haus, 81-69, during their match in the One Pacific Promotional Basketball League 2020 at the Civic Center Court.

Napa fired 24 points in the fourth period—its best output in a quarter—for the double-digit winning margin in their March 13 game opposite Blue Haus. Ivan Devero anchored Napa’s strong finish after recording 12 points, while Paolo Rafols chipped in 8 markers in the onslaught.

Devero led all scorers with his 34 points, making up for a so-so performance in the first period, as he toyed around the defense of Blue Haus in the last three quarters. He delivered 8 markers in the second canto after being held to one field goal in the first to keep Napa in the lead at the break, 38-36.

The former Marianas High School standout then posted 10 points in the third frame, 8 of them came in succession, as Napa earned more breathing room, 57-49, entering the payoff period. Devero was still at it in the final canto and drew enough help from Rafols to hand Napa its second victory in as many games.

Rafols also finished in twin digits with his 16 points, while Brandon Talania paced Blue Haus after logging 18.

Meanwhile, Mawati drew double figures from four players to beat Ming Yang, 79-70.

Frank Ferrer led Mawati’s balance scoring after registering 17 points, while Paul Quizon added 12, and Arjay Nonato and Rodel Pastrano chipped in 10 apiece. Jerome Directo and Bradley Demapan combined for 16 more points to help Mawati’s cause.
