Harry Nakamura shot the lowest net score to grab the opening lead of the Ace of Aces yearend tournament of the Refaluwasch Golf Association held last Sunday at the Marianas Country Club.

Nakamura, who works at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort, shot a net score of 70 to become one of the favorites to win the title.

Joe Lizama and Manny Mangarero are in second and third places, respectively, entering the final day on Dec. 13, on Sunday also at MCC.

Nakamura was part of the four-member CNMI men’s golf team that competed in the XV Pacific Games in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea early this year.

Joseph Camacho, Franco Nakamura, and Louie Tilipao are the other members of the team.

Nakamura is also in contention for the Marianas Golf Association’s own Ace of Aces tournament as he is among the 12 players that vied for the yearend event after winning the January monthly title.

The year 2015 has also become quite generous for Nakamura as he and Louie Tilipao won the low gross category in this year’s 37th anniversary golf tournament of the Marianas Resort & Spa.

He and Pina Magofna also ruled the inaugural Laolao Bay Golf & Resort employees’ golf tournament, a two-person scramble best ball format last month.

RGA’s final day of the yearend tournament is set on Sunday with an 11am show time and 12pm tee off.
