The Triton Men’s Basketball League enters into its last week of the regular season next week after last night’s games in the UOG Calvo Field House.
In the nightcap, the MVP Stars stayed undefeated in the league with a 101-73 win over Team OG and Team Wu Tang survived a comeback in the opener of the evening from the M.B.I. Four Stars to win, 86-84, to maintain their good standing in the Triton League.

In the opener, Team Wu Tang got off to a great start, leading 27-18 after the first quarter with Wu Tang hitting five 3-point shots in the first 10 minutes of the game. Both teams played close in the second quarter, with the Four Stars outscoring Wu Tang 20-19 in the period as Wu Tang led 46-38 at half time.

The Four Stars began to comeback in the third period, outscoring Wu Tang 20-17 in the quarter and cutting the Wu Tang lead to five entering the fourth quarter, 63-58. The Four Stars stayed close the entire final 10 minutes, but could never tie the game or take the lead and lost, 86-84. The Four Stars missed the final shot of the game that would have tied it up.

Wu Tang was led by Audrey Dela Cruz with 24 points and Stefon McCray scored 19 and Dana Holmes 17 for the Wu Tangers as well. Ed Baza scored 26 points for the Four Stars.

Wu Tang is now 6-2 in the Triton League, while M.B.I. Four Stars fell to 1-7 in the league.

In the nightcap, the MVP Stars stayed undefeated in the league with a 101-73 win over Team OG.

Team OG almost had to forfeit the game due to not enough players to start the game, but OG reached five players with just 1:40 left on the forfeit time clock, but since Team OG had players with no time to warm-up, the team got off to a bad start in the first quarter, only scoring 8 points and helping the MVPs to a 20-8 lead after the first 10 minutes.

The MVP Stars maintained their lead in the second quarter and led 43-25 at half-time and 67-48 after the third period.

Argie Flores scored 15 points for the MVPs in the fourth quarter to help the game become a rout as the Stars finished off OG, 101-73, for the game.

Joe Blas led the Stars with 29 points and Argie Flores scored 23. Chris Connor scored 22 for Team OG, while Alshae Grape added 19.

The MVPs are now 8-0 in the league, while Team OG fell to 3-5.
