The Marianas Visitors Authority recently installed a Tinian destination sign on Tinian, with the hope that it will become as iconic a sign as its Saipan counterpart in Marpi.

MVA brought media and travel agents as well as a TV reality show to promote Tinian in the CNMI’s markets.

MVA managing director Christopher Attao Concepcion told Saipan Tribune yesterday that they put up the destination sign at Taga Beach, with the gorgeous blue waters and Goat Island in the background.

“This landmark sign is similar in design to the giant Saipan destination sign in Marpi [on Saipan] and will become a very popular attraction for sure,” Concepcion said.

He said they also brought in a media and travel agent familiarization group from Russia to promote the island in the Russian market.

MVA also worked with SBS TV station from Korea to film Law of the Jungle on Tinian, a reality TV show similar to America’s Survivor series.

MVA also brought in its resident Instagrammer from Japan to promote the Pika Festival in the Japan market.

For the China market, Concepcion said they brought in a travel agent familiarization group from Northeast China last month to promote Tinian in this massive market.

Concepcion said MVA will be bringing in a dive familiarization group next week, in partnership with Oceania Media to promote the island’s many dive spots.
