The 2018 Marianas Visitors Authority China Road Show came to its fifth and final stop in Guangzhou on April 24, 2018, reaching over 600 travel agencies and media with the latest Marianas destination updates and marketing plans.

The MVA visited all cities with direct flights to Saipan—Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou—as well as Xi’an, where potential for direct flights is being explored.

The MVA also officially launched the Chinese version of the slogan “Paradise for Everyone” with eight travel themes for The Marianas: ocean, sports, food, culture, family, wedding & honeymoon, eco-tour and self-driving. Celebrities, VIPs, media, and bloggers who have visited Saipan, Tinian, or Rota recorded a greeting video to celebrate the launch of the Chinese slogan.

Several VIP guests presented their insight into the tourism potential of The Marianas: Michael A. Middleton, foreign service officer from the Embassy of the United States of America; Chen Mengyu, deputy director of Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Administration; and Zhou Tong, cofounder and vice president of Qyer.com.

“This first round of road shows was strongly supported by our tourism partners and well-received by the industry in cities we visited,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “After this round of road shows, we will begin visiting more second tier cities to introduce Marianas tourism resources to more potential partners and visitors. China will remain a strong source market for The Marianas for the foreseeable future.”

The MVA was joined by major travel industry partners who shared their tourism resources, including Brighten International Travel, Century Tours, SPITS, New World Travel Agency, Asiana Airlines, Top Development Inc, DFS, Bridge Investment Group, Imperial Pacific, and Impression Tour. Additional promotional materials and prizes for the road show were provided by Aqua Resort Club, Saipan Submarine, Franken Brau, and GIG Discotheque.
