MVA meeting reset to Dec. 14
The Marianas Visitors Authority’s semi- annual general membership meeting originally scheduled for November has been rescheduled to Dec. 14, at 10am at Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.
Guest speakers from the MVA’s offshore offices will provide a recap of fiscal year 2018 projects and the MVA’s marketing plans for fiscal year 2019, including post-typhoon recovery plans. Speakers will be the in-country managers: Irene Lee, Korea market; Florence Shi, China market; and Takashi Ichikura, Japan market.
“In recovering from the impact of Super Typhoon Yutu, we will need to revisit our marketing strategies and other plans for the coming months,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “It’s safe to say that our marketing efforts will be impacted tremendously due to the loss of visitors during the latter part of October and first three weeks of November, which translate to less hotel occupancy taxes being collected by the government. December’s general membership meeting will provide an opportunity to learn what those anticipated changes will be, and equally important, how we can continue to collaborate as tourism partners within and outside the Marianas to deliver an even higher-quality destination for our visitors.”
Admission is $20 for MVA members and $25 for non-members. RSVP by emailing MVA Community Projects Division at communityprojects@mymarianas.com or calling 664-3210. (PR)
