The Marianas Visitors Authority’s 2017 marketing campaign “Paradise for Everyone” was officially launched and shared with 230 major travel trade partners in Korea this month.

Large banners with stunning images of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota greeted representatives of travel agencies, airlines, media, and other industry partners at the launch events on Jan. 9 in Seoul and Jan. 10 in Busan, the second largest city in Korea.

“In cooperation with several industry partners from the Northern Marianas, we successfully launched ‘Paradise for Everyone’ to an enthusiastic audience in Korea this month, highlighted by information about the islands and specifics of the MVA’s key activities and support programs this year,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion, who addressed attendees at the event, which was also attended by MVA board director Tommy Kim. “This was also an opportunity to thank our Korean partners for working with us in 2016 and to build on those ties for 2017. We anticipate continued strong arrivals from Korea in the year ahead.”

The events were successfully carried out with 15 industry partners Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, Jin Air, Eastar Jet, T’way Air, Kanoa Resort, Kensington Hotel, Pacific Islands Club, Aqua Resort Club, Lao Lao Bay Golf & Resort, Mariana Resort & Spa, Saipan World Resort, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Fiesta Resort & Spa, and T Galleria.

The event in Seoul included an official appointment ceremony for two new Northern Mariana Islands tourism ambassadors, celebrity entertainer Jiyoon Park and popular singing artist Jaehoon Lee.

“Following their appointment, the two spoke highly of their experiences with various activities, gourmets, and travel spots in the Northern Marianas,” said Concepcion. “Park recommended Saipan as the best family and honeymoon destination, while Lee endorsed the islands as an attractive destination for young tourists.”

In Busan, body stylist Yeon Lee, who visited Saipan to film a 360-degree virtual reality video last year, shared her experiences and highly recommended the BOB (breathing observation bubble) underwater scooter tour. Lee’s video was screened for the audience during the talk show.

As the event finale in both cities, a raffle was held for participants, and 14 air tickets, 16 hotel certificates and DFS shopping coupons were awarded. (MVA)
