The Marianas Visitors Authority recently joined the B2B event “Travel to America” organized by the U.S. Embassy in Moscow and U.S. Consulate General in Vladivostok, Russia.

The event provided the MVA the opportunity to increase awareness of the Marianas in the travel trade and media community, to announce new developments to travel partners, and to build new business ties with participants.

The event was held on May 18, 2017, at the general ambassador’s residence along with the Guam Visitors Bureau, American Airlines, and Visit Anchorage.

“The ‘Travel to America’ was a great opportunity for the MVA meet personally with guests, answer their questions about travel to the Marianas, and distributed brochures and guidebooks about the islands,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “According to our MVA team in Russia, guests showed strong interest in the Marianas. It was also an opportunity to meet with some key players in Far East Russia that could play a role in helping to revive the market.”

Over 50 representatives of travel agencies, tour operators, airlines and airport representatives, media and other companies of Vladivostok attended. Besides meetings with key travel trade partners, the MVA arranged negotiations with regional sales directors of S7 Airlines and Yakutia Airlines, the deputy director of Vladivostok airport, and the director of a major luxury tours and travel trade company.

To add a touch of island charm, the MVA helped guests send the Marianas gift cards with kind wishes to any person they want. (MVA)
