The Marianas Visitors Authority’s booth was a hit at the Blogapalooza-Horizons 2.0 event held on Nov. 5, 2016, at Novotel Manila Araneta Center.
Blogapalooza is a business-to-bloggers event and was attended by over 800 bloggers from throughout the Philippines. The MVA operated a booth at the event to educate and generate awareness among bloggers of what the Northern Marianas offers as a destination.
The MVA secured a strategic corner booth at the event along with industry partner Philippine Airlines. Bloggers were able to take pictures with “mwar” (floral head leis) and signs for Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Bloggers also met celebrity Jojo, the Love Survivor. In the afternoon, the MVA made a destination presentation onstage.
“Any exposure we can get in the Philippines is welcome, and social media is definitely a strong medium in all our markets,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “At the same time, we realize that many of our visitors via the Philippines actually originate from China and transit through Manila. At this time, we are strategizing ways with our travel partners to increase visitors from both the Philippines and China to fill those incoming flights.”
The MVA attracted the most bloggers to their booth and also had the most event photos posted by attending bloggers. (MVA)
