MVA commends BECQ on web app

The Marianas Visitors Authority lauded the recent release of the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality’s Web application, which provides the public with an easy access to information from various government agencies.

MVA sees its potential as a way to provide directions to tourists.

“The MVA is excited about the launch of the new Web app by BECQ. It includes a very detailed map of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, which can be very helpful for tourists who visit our islands,” said MVA managing director Chris Concepcion.

The app was developed by BECQ as a one-stop app for information to assist developers and consultants for business development.

“We are finally able to release the BECQ permitting app. This essentially is a very useful tool at the hands of consultants and developers,” said BECQ administrator Frank Rabauliman in an earlier interview.

“[The app] would provide them key information for the planning phase of developments and projects. For BECQ, it is useful for the proposals that business developers are submitting for permitting purposes,” he added.

Concepcion believes the app could possibly attract foreign investors to the CNMI.

“I understand it is highly appreciated by current and future foreign and local investors so we applaud the work of BECQ in putting this thing together,” he said. “We hope to see it as a smartphone app in the future, similar to Reef Report, which is also very helpful.”
