In support of daily flights by Jeju Air from Busan, Korea, to Saipan, the Marianas Visitors Authority recently hosted an in-depth familiarization tour to acquaint seven leading Busan area travel agents with the destination.
“The aim of the 2018 Marianas Busan Study FAM Tour was to equip travel agents with firsthand information and experiences so they can better promote the Marianas’ beautiful natural assets, convenient hotel facilities, exciting leisure activities and associated tour packages for Korean travelers,” said MVA marketing manager Broc Calvo. “The participants shared that they were very satisfied with the tour itinerary and agreed it will stimulate the development of various tour packages. On a personal note, they also said they would like to visit Saipan again, and that is a indicator of the true success of the tour.”
From May 25 to May 29, the group visited major hotels, conducting site inspections and experiencing hotel restaurants and other facilities.
The group also visited scenic spots, including Bird Island, Banzai Cliff, Korean Memorial and Managaha.
Participants experienced the Joyful Dinner Show at Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan and visited the Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival & Beer Garden on the last day of the festival for an opportunity to experience indigenous culture.
On the second day, there was snorkeling on Managaha, an island tour, and a sunset cruise. In addition, participants visited Coral Ocean Golf Resort and Lao Lao Bay Golf & Resort.
The tour was also supported by several MVA members. Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan provided complimentary accommodation for two nights including breakfast, and Hyatt Regency Saipan did the same, as well as providing a Sunday brunch. PIC Saipan enabled an inspection of its waterpark, and Saipan World Resort provided property inspection with lunch at Myunga, the Korean restaurant. Lao Lao Bay Golf & Resort supported an inspection and lunch at The Grill, and the Kensington Hotel Saipan room inspection came with dinner at Loria. DFS Saipan included a discount coupon for participants with its property inspection. (MVA)
