The Marianas Visitors Authority recently promoted the Marianas at the Pacific Asia Travel Association Travel Mart 2017 in Macau, China. The goal of the travel mart held Sept. 13-15, 2017, was to allow one-on-one business appointments between hundreds of tourism and travel buyers and sellers.
PATA Travel Mart is a premier travel trade show featuring unparalleled networking and contracting opportunities to help travel and tourism organizations access decision makers, meet new clients, expand their networks, establish new relationships, and consolidate existing business partnerships. Most of these buyers at the event were looking for new destinations for their clients.
During pre-arranged meetings, MVA deputy managing director Judy Torres presented the Northern Marianas as a new destination to the Asian region and as a long-haul destination to the European markets.
“It’s been several years since MVA has had the resources to attend PATA Travel Mart, but this year we were able to highlight the NMI during our one-on-one sessions by presenting our destination, location, offerings, and other essential information,” said Torres. “We answered their questions and exchanged contact information that our MVA members can use to introduce local products and services.”
