Muna, Omar lead batting in Belau league

Mike Muna and Jovie Omar let their bats do the talking as they are currently on top of the batting leaders in the Belau Amateur Softball League.

Big Legals slugger Muna and his counterpart at Chagi NORF: Omar, both went 4-for-4 to log in a 1.000 batting average to lead their respective divisions.

Two City Boys players are tied at second to third with .857 each while, IP&E teammates Ron Benavente and Mark Toves, and S.A. Master’s Ben Duenas are bunched up from fourth to sixth places with .800.

Tom Camacho (Sufa) and Mark Flores (Peleliu) registered .750 each followed by the .714 of Oscar Sablan (S.A. Masters). Two batters from Mommy Charo joined Ralph Yumul (S.A. Masters) and John Pilar (Sufa) from 11th to 14th spots with .625 apiece.

IP&E’s Jack Diaz and Brotherhood’s Julian Camacho have a .600 average, while the latter’s teammates, Ben Hocog and Kent Kalen, logged .517 each. Edgar Pangelinan completes the list at .555.

Jeff Cabrera (S.A. Masters), Ben Hocog and Ken Kaipat (Brotherhood), and Sufa’s Tom Camacho had blasted two homers each, while Muna had one triple while Tom Camacho, who also had seven RBIs, joined a City Boys batter with the most runs scored with six apiece.

Liz Lebria of Sakudi (.833); the GSM Babes’ Eddilyn Benjamin and Janesha Atalig (.750), Erlinda Naputi and Marlyn Naputi of GSM Babes and Just For Fun’s Sasha Pangelinan (.600), GSM Babes’ Paulin Camacho and Kuki Pangelinan and the Rookies’ Brenda Camacho (.571), Bert Camacho of Sakudi, and Just For Fun trio Falisa Brel, Sumang Alana and Jen Dela Cruz, and Chagi NORF’s Zena Pua (.500) joined Omar on the women’s side.

Kuki Pangelinan had the most doubles with two and then joined Zena Pua, Sakudi’s Thelma Mizer, and one teammate with one triple. Erlinda Naputi had already scored five runs, while Pauline Camacho blasted two homers early in the season.

Mizer and Pangelinan had the most RBIs with four apiece, while Felisa Brel and Tonet Laniyo had already recorded 10 strikeouts.

Games resume at the Dandan ballfield on Sunday after the Lenten break.
