Mt. Carmel still undefeated

Mt. Carmel School is still perfect in the middle school division of the 2019 NMIFA Interscholastic Soccer League after notching a pair of wins last week at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

The Knights hammered Chacha Oceanview Middle School, 12-1, last Friday or two days after outclassing Hopwood Middle School 2, 4-1, for a 5-0-0 win-draw-loss record and a sweep of the round-robin elimination.

Against Chacha, Gabby San Nicolas powered Mt. Carmel to the easy victory with his hat trick. Leland Deleon Guerrero, Ruben Guerrero, and Miles Linden contributed two goals apiece, while Devin Propst, Earl Lacandezo, and Markus Toves added one each.

Leon Dela Cruz nailed the lone goal for Chacha.

Versus Hopwood 2, Toves delivered a pair for the Knights, while Guerrero and Linden chipped in one apiece.

In other results last Wednesday, Saipan International School topped Hopwood 1, 4-2.

Andrew Sablan registered two goals for the Geckos, who drew one each from Xavier Lee and Allen Cho. Jayvin Bisek posted the only goal for Hopwood 1.

Meanwhile, for the Oct. 16 and 18 matches, Mt. Carmel beat Hopwood 1, 5-2; Francisco M. Sablan Middle School downed Hopwood 2, 2-0; and SIS blanked Chacha, 3-0.

ELEMENTARY DIVISION
Koblerville 2, MCS 0

Over at the TSL Sports Complex for ISL’s futsal competition, Koblerville Elementary School shut down Mt. Carmel in their Oct. 15 duel.

Rosie Jean Saralu recorded the two goals for the Umangs.

SIS 2, WSR 1
The Geckos edged out William S. Reyes Elementary School after hitting the board in the second half.

Sean Park knocked in the brace for SIS in the final half of the match, while Alyssa Borlongan scored for WSR, also in the second half.

In other results, Gregorio T. Camacho dominated Saipan Community, 7-1.
