MP United sweeps boys matches

MP United went 2-0 in the boys division contest in the 2014 NMIFA Spring Youth Football League with its U15 and U18 teams recording contrasting wins at the Oleai Sports Complex Field over the weekend.
In the boys U15, Sun Joon Tenorio dropped twin goals to lift MP United to a 2-1 win over rival Paire FC last Friday. Tenorio scored his first goal right in the closing minute of the first half to put MP United on top, but not for long, as 10 minutes later Paire equalized off Ivan Seo’s conversation.
The game remained in a deadlock in the next 15 minutes before Tenorio again found his target and hit the go-ahead goal.
While MP United pulled off a close win over Paire, its U18 squad had an easier time against MP United last Saturday, coasting to a 9-0 triumph.
Tanapon Unsa did the damage for MP United, firing five goals. Brian Lee chipped in two, while Jehn Joyner, and Jireh Yobech contributed one apiece. Unsa drew first blood for MP United with his goal in the 24th minute, while Joyner got into the board six minutes later. Unsa then ended the first half with his second goal and picked up where he left off in the second half, starting the final frame with back-to-back goals. Lee had his pair in the 75th and 78, while Unsa nailed his fifth in the 77th, and Yobech completed the demolition with a shot in the 80th.
In other boys U18 results, Paire eked out a 2-1 triumph over Tan Holdings FC.
Ryu Tanzawa and Ethan Dickinson scored one goal apiece for Paire with the former drilling the go-ahead in the last minute of the tough match. Tanzawa put Paire on the board in the 19th minute, while Michael Fidelino nailed the lone goal for Tan Holdings FC three minutes before the first half ended.
In the two other boys U15 matches, Tan Holdings downed Shirley’s FC and Matansa. Tan Holdings first faced Shirley’s last Friday and cruised to a 4-0 victory. Emmanuel Aniana, Jonathan Capayas, Jun Sik Kim, and Kyle Salvosa posted one goal apiece in the shutout win. Against Matansa last Saturday, Jun Sik Kim had a hat-trick to power Tan Holdings to a 3-1 victory. Chad Shankweiler registered the lone goal for Matansa.
Meanwhile, in the girls U15 matches at the Hopwoop Junior High School Field, Matansa and Tan Holdings engaged in a scoreless draw, while Paire and Shirley’s FC booked separate wins.
Paire routed Kanoa FC, 8-1, behind the hat-tricks of Guinevere Borja and Renita Fleming. Ma.
Theresa Dalusong and Kalea Adrew chipped in one goal each. Natasha Quilala logged the only goal for Kanoa,
Katrina Costales also tallied the lone goal in their game against MP United to hand Shirley’s FC the victory in the opener in last Saturday’s triple-header.
