MP United, Kanoa top U12 foes

MP United Football Club and Kanoa FC outclassed their respective foes in the co-ed U12 division of the2015 NMIFA Youth Fall League last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.

MP United faced Paire at Pitch 1 and pulled off a 3-2 victory, while Kanoa downed Tan Holdings at Pitch 2, 3-1. With their wins MP United and Kanoa remained in the Top 2 in the team standings with the former holding a 3-0-0 win-draw-loss record and the latter having a 2-0-1 card. Tan Holdings is in third place with its 1-0-1 slate, while Paire is at the bottom with its 0-0-3 card.

Dylan Cho scored a pair of goals in MP United’s third win, while Reginald Pascual made the other one. Dominic Torres and Marty Taisacan recorded one goal apiece for Paire, which took the early lead, 1-0, off the former’s shot in the eighth minute.

Cho knotted the count with his conversion in the 14th minute and handed MP United a 2-1 lead with his second goal nine minutes into the final half. Pascual lit up the board anew for MP United in the 47th minute, while Taisacan registered the last goal in the match one minute later.

In the Kanoa-Tan Holdings tiff, three different players scored for the former. Jaydee Jose started things out for Kanoa with his goal in the 12th minute, while Ian Karl Maniago made it a 2-0 advantage after finding the back of the net in the 25th.

A Taka Borja goal in the 36th minute moved Tan Holdings within one, but Merrick Toves gave Kanoa the insurance eight minutes later.

BOYS U15
MP United 3, Matansa 0

MP United is also ahead in the boys U15 division as it improved to a 3-0-0 record following a shutout win over Matansa.

Edwin Kim towed MP United to its third victory in as many matches after scoring a pair of goals. Michael Lee tallied the other goal for MP United, as he made it to the board right in the opening minute of their match at the Hopwood pitch, while Kim recorded his back-to-back goals in the 20th and 75th.

MP United handed Matansa its second loss in as many games.

Paire 3, Kanoa 1
Paire got its second win in three matches after defeating Kanoa in the other boys U15 division pairing at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

Dai Podziewski, Harry Huh, and Jefferzon Sagum scored for Paire in the 11th, 14th, and 52nd minute, respectively, while Andruw Omelau nailed the lone goal for Kanoa (1-0-2) in the 69th.

The other match at the Oleai pitch resulted to a win by Tan Holdings-1 after Shirley’s FC failed to come up with enough players for the game. Tan Holdings 1 is still unbeaten in two matches, while Shirley’s is winless after three games.

BOYS U18
Tan Holdings 18, Paire 0

Tan Holdings posted the most lopsided victory in Week 4 of the youth league after clobbering Paire at the Oleai pitch.

Sean Perez led Tan Holdings’ demolition of Paire after drilling five goals, while Cosmos Kim added four. Hobin Lee tallied pair, while Louie Calayag, Joel and Anthony Fruit, Young Jin Jung, Junsik Kim, Yoshi Mafnas, and Mareko Tekopua contributed one apiece.

Tan Holdings has a 3-0-0 record in the four-team field.

MP United 1, Matansa 0
MP United duplicated Tan Holdings’ perfect slate after nipping Matansa.

Moris Villanueva made the only goal in the first boys U18 game at the Oleai pitch, as he found his target in the 49th minute.
