MP United Football Club extended its reign in the U18 division of the NMIFA Youth League after ruling this year’s fall season.

MP United finished the 2014 NMIFA Youth Fall League undefeated, as it completed a six-game sweep, following a 4-1 victory over Paire Football Club last Friday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

Tanapon Unsa led the easy win with a brace, while Scott Kim and Chris Park added one apiece. Joining the three on the champion team are goalie Christopher Aninzo, Kyle Chung, Kennedy Izuka, Jehn Joyner, NamKi Kim, Bob Kim, Jason Kim, Aaron Lee, Daniel Lim, John Diego Masga, Greg Sablan, John Taisacan, David Yang, Jireh Yobech, Chan Woo Jeong, Enrico del Rosario, and Andrew Johnson.

Scott Kim put MP United on the board with a goal in the fourth, while Park also scored in the first half (23rd minute) off a Johnson assist. Unsa made it a 3-0 advantage for the IT&E-backed MP United when he got his first in the 30th and he added one more in the 61st minute before Paire finally lit up the board midway in the second half, thanks to Ethan Dickinson’s conversion.

The eventual champion, which earned its fourth straight U18 division crown and notched unbeaten records for three consecutive seasons, highlighted its perfect season with 32 goals—the most scored by any of the four teams in the group. The Norman Del Rosario-coached squad also gave up the least goals with 9 and registered 18 points in the double-round robin competition.

The perennial champion finished the season six markers ahead of Tan Holdings FC, which wrapped up its campaign in the fall with a 4-0-2 win-draw-loss record. Tan Holdings scored 27 goals and gave up 11. Paire and Matansa FC held identical 1-0-5 marks to take the bottom two spots with the latter drilling more goals than the former, 8-5.

GIRLS U15
Shirley’s FC 4, Tan Holdings 1

Shirley’s FC boosted its title bid in the girls U15 division after beating Tan Holdings FC last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.
Shirley’s improved its record to 8-0-1 (win-draw-los), while Tan Holdings dropped to a 3-1-5 mark.
Diana Manacop powered Shirley’s to its eighth win after logging two goals, while Katherine Magat and De Jana Muna added one each. Chloe Salvosa recorded the lone goal for Tan Holdings.

Matansa 4, Paire 0
Matansa also remained in contention for the division crown, following its demolition of Paire last weekend.
Angelica Sally handed Matansa twin goals to give the team a 7-1-0 record. Bernadette Horey and Sunny Woe scored the two other goals for Matansa.
Paire, with the shutout loss, stayed in third place with its 4-0-5 slate.

MP United 3, Kanoa FC 0
MP United cruised to victory, too, last weekend against the winless Kanoa FC.
Gilliam VIllagomez duplicated Sally and Manacop’s feat with her back-to-back goals in the second half (69th and 70th minute), while Grace Choi tallied MP United’s first goal in the opening frame (23rd).
Despite easing past Kanoa, MP United remained at the bottom half of the team standings as the latter is in fifth place with its 3-0-5 record.
