MP United Football Club hammered Shirley’s FC, 8-0, during the third and last game in Week 3 of the boys U14 division of the 2016 NMIFA Youth Fall League last Saturday at the Koblerville Elementary School Field.
The win was only MP United’s first this season as it lost to Paire and TanHoldings last month. Shirley’s, on the other hand, absorbed its third loss in as many matches.
Rintaro Miyawaki was unstoppable in MP United’s lopsided victory as he scored five goals, including a hat trick in the second half. His two other goals were made in succession, as he nailed his first in the 13th and the second three minutes later. MP United went up by 3 at halftime, 3-0, as Skyler Poon scored in the 19th minute.
In the second half, Chris Kim gave MP United its first goal in the final 35 minutes of play, while Miyawaki delivered the second, and Eun Syu Hahn scored the third. Miyawaki then completed MP United’s domination of Shirley’s after dropping back-to-back goals.
With the win over Shirley’s, MP United shares the No. 4 to 5 spot with Matansa (1-0-2 win-draw-loss record). Shirley’s stays at the bottom of the team standings in the six-squad field.
Kanoa 6, Paire 0
Kanoa is in second place, joining Paire after also earning a shutout win.
Kanoa and Paire hold similar 2-0-1 marks.
Ian Karl Maniago and Kirt Andon registered two goals apiece in Kanoa’s second victory. Joseph Rasa and Thomas Benavente recorded Kanoa’s two other goals.
Andon hit the board first when he found the back of the net in the fifth minute. Basa also scored in the first half (eighth minute), while Andon got his second in the 13th minute and Maniago made it a 4-0 halftime lead for Kanoa after posting his first three minutes later.
Kanoa’s two goals in the second half were registered in the 43rd and 56th by Benavente and Maniago, respectively.
TanHoldings 10, Matansa 2
TanHoldings took the solo division lead after pouncing on Matansa in the second game last weekend.
Kirro Batino led TanHoldings’ third win in as many games after firing three goals. Mark Esalan and Thaiphi Australia contributed two apiece, while Joeraf Dalawampu, John Michael Rojas, and John Paul Cruz logged one each.
Batino posted two of his goals in the first half to hand TanHoldings a 3-2 advantage. Esalan made the other goal in the opening 35 minutes of the game. Matansa only faced a one-goal deficit at the break after Joshua Malig and Lolobeyong Benito hit the board in the first. Matansa then was silent in the second half, allowing TanHoldings to keep its perfect record.
TanHoldings hopes to stretch its win streak to four this Saturday when it duels Paire in the curtain-raiser at 1:30pm. In the second game at 3pm, it will be Kanoa versus Shirley’s, while in the last match at 4:30pm, Matansa will slug it out against MP United.
