MP United beats Paire in boys U14 game

MP United Football Club defeated Paire, 4-1, in one of the boys U14 division games in the 2017 NMIFA Fall Youth League last Saturday at the Koblerville Elementary School Field.
MP United got the victory despite a scoreless first half, which ended with Paire still ahead, 1-0. Jon Villagomez gave Paire the shaky lead with his goal in the 23rd minute. Paire eventually lost the upper hand in the second half, as MP United got its offense going.
Richard Steele broke MP United’s silence with his shot in the 39th minute, while Rohan Basnet put their team on top with this goal nine minutes later. Rintaro Miyawaki made it three in row for MP United, as he found the back of the net in the 60th minute, while Jason Quimson closed out for the squad in the 66th.
In the first boys tiff last weekend, Matansa edged Kanoa FC, 2-1.
John Edward Fabia put Matansa on the board with his goal in the 39th minute, while Elijah Villarmero drilled the insurance in the 57th. Jhoey Noble scored the lone goal for Kanoa in the 68th minute.
In the second game Shirley’s FC and TanHoldings engaged in a draw, 1-1.
Rakib Hassan delivered the goal for Shirley’s in the 38th minute, but his team failed to stay on top, as five minutes later Luis Claridades hit the equalizer for TanHoldings.
Meanwhile, Shirley’s and TanHoldings will try to get the win that eluded them last weekend as they take on separate opponents this Saturday. TanHoldings will duel Paire in the first match at 1pm, while Shirley’s will play Matansa in the last game at 4pm. In the second match at 2:30pm, MP United will face Kanoa.
