The top seed heading into the finals—MP United—are the champions of the Flores-Péé Luwal (Intermediate) Division of the Dove Women’s League.

They defeated Southern United Football Club, 1-0, last Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

The winner-take-all championship game went on intensely as both teams were at a stalemate in the first half.

The only goal came after a break in SUFC’s defense and MP United’s Moriah Sablan clipped the net in the 45th minute. SUFC had no such luck no matter how hard they tried as the match clock wound down and handed the victory to MP United.

The roster in the championship team included Sablan, Neeka Atalig, Soledad Quan, Rachel Salalila, Laarni Zapanta, Aleina Hofschneider, Michelle Ann Masga, Jaime Camacho, Nicole Deleon Guerrero, Conchita Camacho, Dustian Faisao, Lizann Deleon Guerrero, Gina Duenas, Almina Deleon Guerrero, Erlinda Shimizu, Sachi George, Doemiko Flores, Pia Rose Aguon, and Jove Jenn Taman.

In the match between Matansa FC and Tan Holdings FC, it ended in a 1-1 draw. Tan Holdings drew first blood in the 33rd minute after a quiet first half. Attempts at the goal came and went for both teams until the Matansa’s Justidy Leon Guerrero tied it up in the 59th minute.

Paire FC and Shirley’s FC then took a crack at it with the game ending 2-1 in favor of Paire.

Cassidee Flores of Shirley’s FC nipped the goal early 15 minutes into the game. However, Paire was not out for the count as they came from behind and scored their two goals late in the second half.

Natalie Hill-Beyer scored the first goal in the 54th minute and the winning goal was made in the 58th minute by Elizabeth Culp.
