The COVID-19 vaccination campaign Road to 80 went live from Naked Fish Bar and Grill last Friday, where program manager and raffle host Brad Ruszala gave previous raffle winners their prizes and selected last week’s winners. Tomorrow, Aug. 20, Road to 80 will select winners of a $3,500 prize and a $1,000 bonus prize courtesy of the Bank of Guam.

Ruszala explained during the livestream that there were no streamed cash handoffs the week before as he was off-island for a short period, and quarantined at home after flying back to Saipan. Previous raffle winners who received their prizes last Friday were Derol Tudela, who won $500; Yang Soon Ho, who won $1,000; and Edgardo Sagun, who won $3,000.

Sagun described his win as not being lucky but a “blessing from God.” He thanked Road to 80, the campaign’s sponsors, and his family for their support.

Last week’s winners were Ericson Faustino, who won $3,000, and Mary Bellama, who donated her $1,000 prize to the Commonwealth Cancer Association. CCA president Bo Palacios was at Naked Fish last Friday, and Bellama handed the cash to him in person.

During the livestream, Ruszala said the campaign recently received a 17-foot Yamaha boat that comes with a 25-horsepower engine and trailer for ease of transport. The boat will join the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport as a major prize that will be raffled off on Aug. 28 at the Taste of the Marianas. Ruszala added that Bank of Guam recently became a sponsor of Road to 80, and has donated two $1,000 bonus cash prizes” one tomorrow and one for next week.

To qualify for Road to 80’s raffles, a person must be a CNMI resident and must have already received their first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine or their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson or Janssen vaccine.
