Three Northern Marianas College graduates—John Angello, Camille Masga, and Mark Reyes—have passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses or NCLEX-RN.

The NCLEX-RN exam is the exam nursing graduates in the CNMI have to pass in order to be able to practice nursing. The exam tests the knowledge, skills, and abilities of nursing graduates in order to certify that they are equipped with the capability to apply entry level nursing practices correctly.

“It’s great to see more and more NMC nursing graduates pass the challenging NCLEX-RN,” said NMC interim president Frankie Eliptico. “I congratulate John, Camille, and Mark on this accomplishment.”

NMC Nursing Department chair Rosa Aldan also congratulated the three on their achievements. “John, Camille, and Mark have bright futures in the nursing field and we expect to see great things from them as their educational and professional journeys continue,” Aldan said.

Angello

Angello, a former hospital corpsman for the U.S. Navy said that NMC was supportive in his endeavor to become a nurse. “I found out that patient care is my greatest passion [while in the Navy,]” Angello said. He is currently working at the Rota Health Center.

Masga

According to Masga, her motivation for pursuing a nursing degree was the love she has for helping others. “I knew that nursing was not only a profession but an ongoing passion that would include helping others achieve their highest level of wellness,” Masga said.

Reyes

For Reyes, NMC’s nursing instructors prepared him well for the NCLEX-RN. His advice to students planning to take the NCLEX-RN: Never give up. “Be sure to always challenge yourself and test your limits,” Reyes said.
