MMAC to kicks off 2016 fight against cancer

Mark your calendars Saipan! The Marianas March Against Cancer’s big 2016 event will be held on May 13 and this year’s MMAC Committee is welcoming families, schools, businesses, non-profits, and government agencies to take part in the fight against cancer in the CNMI.

“This year we are building on the success of the previous Marches,” said MMAC chair Geri Dela Cruz, “The March Against Cancer is an incredible event that brings nearly all members of our community together for a single and worthwhile focus and we are hoping to make this year bigger and better than ever before.”

The Marianas March Against Cancer is an opportunity for community organizations, schools, businesses, and families to raise funds to support the Commonwealth Cancer Association and their work to assist individuals and families in the CNMI who are battling cancer.

Each year, members from various sectors of the community volunteer in MMAC Committee to plan and organize the event. This year Recruitment is chaired by Bobby Cruz and Catherine Attao-Toves, Sponsorship is chaired by Nola Hix and Jackie Che, Public Relations and Media is chaired by Matthew Deleon Guerrero and Carol Hosono, Luminaries is being chaired by Jenypy Sambile and Krizia Mendoza, T-Shirts is chaired by Diana Benevente and Krizia Mendoza, Logistics is chaired by Janine Nogis and Ricky Itibus, Survivors is chaired by Nola Hix and Jackie Che, Entertainment is chaired by Carol Hosono, Accounting is chaired by Manny Borja, Ashley Benevente, and Dan Brown, and Awards is chaired by Jenypy Sambile.

“The teams that have been regular fixtures on the MMAC field are truly an inspiration, and we are calling on all business, organizations, and groups throughout the CNMI to take part this year.” Said Dela Cruz, “Its all for a great cause and it will be a night you won’t forget!”
