In time for Father’s Day, Skywalker Communication Group and Trench Tech Gym will be organizing a mixed martial arts exhibition at the Liberation Day Festival Grounds this weekend

Trench Tech owner Cuki Alvarez said the boxing and kickboxing exhibitions will be a great opportunity to showcase to the community mental, physical, and spiritual benefits one can obtain through MMA.

Alvarez, like his father before him, along with the whole Alvarez family, are known for bringing and introducing and promoting various sports entertainment such as Motocross, jetski races, parasailing, and more in the CNMI.

Trench Tech, according to Alvarez, symbolizes the Marianas Trench and its depth, and technique. To him, MMA requires a lot of training and mastering of techniques.

“Trench Tech, I would say, is the depth of knowledge one acquires through dedication, perseverance, and mastering of the sport, or anything in life. Our motto is ‘We create friendship through fighting,’” he said.

He then adds, “MMA is an international sport. We invite people from all over the world, including Japan, Guam, USA, Russia, and further beyond… Everybody is equal, and everybody respects each other because it is the main meaning of every combat.”

Dr. Bo Hu, Skywalker Communications president, a spiritual individual with great aspiration is to find inner peace and someone who holds great respect for words spoken by Alvarez about how mix martial arts is not just about fighting, but greatly how it “teaches you how to become a real man in a whole meaning of the word: it teaches you how to be disciplined, how to defend yourself and your family respect.”

Liberation Day teaches honor and freedom. This Saturday, Saipan will witness 16 young MMA fighters demonstrate skills and energy. The youngest boy is 13, and the oldest is around 30 years old.

According to Bo, “we bring MMA fighting to the Liberation grounds as our way of showcasing the sport, as well as promoting healthy living in the CNMI, and because Sunday is Father’s Day, we wanted to provide some form of entertainment for the fathers.” (PR)
