While checking out at Saipan World Resort & Spa yesterday, guests had the opportunity to meet and take photos with 2014 Miss Marianas Teen Gianna Camacho, who thanked them for visiting the islands.
On school break from the Northern Marianas Academy at the Northern Marianas College, Camacho decided to spend some time greeting visitors and show appreciation for making the CNMI their choice for a vacation destination.
“It was fun meeting our visitors and sharing a photo with them., I learned how to say thank you in four languages. I’ll definitely be doing more of these meet and greets at our local hotels and at the airport,” she said.
Camacho was an instant hit with the guests, with families taking photos and sharing light moments with the local beauty queen.
“Our next round of meet and greets will feature Gianna giving our visitors postcards with her official photo and a note that says ‘thank you for visiting our islands,’ said Stellar Marianas president Laila Boyer.
“She is preparing for the 2015 Miss Teen International Pageant in Jacksonville, Florida, this July and being active in the community only strengthens her abilities as an ambassador and a positive role model for our community,” she said.
Camacho recently participated in the 2014 Japan Association of Travel Agents Expo in Tokyo, Japan, toured in the 2014 Christmas in the Marianas Parade, took photos with residents and visitors at the Thursday Night Street Market, volunteered as a model for two major Japanese channels, and the ongoing Mariana Islands Nature Alliance Reusable Bag Challenge, donated books to the CHC Pediatric Unit for her birthday, and will also be reading to first graders at Garapan Elementary School tomorrow to help promote literacy.
“I will be launching a Valentine’s Day dream date giveaway for teens next week and a heritage fashion show competition for young designers to turn traditional wear to a modern flair as a way to celebrate diversity, which is my platform,” smiled Camacho.
Details of both events will be released shortly.
