Peachy Quitugua, this year’s Miss Northern Marianas, took part in the Lunar New Year festivities last Saturday, Jan. 28 2017.
Quitugua was at the Hyatt Regency Saipan at 11:30am to welcome the Year of the Fire Rooster. She witnessed the Chinese dragon dance of good fortune, performed by members of the Chinese Association of Saipan, sharing in the spirit of prosperity for 2017 with hotel guests and employees.
“I wish nothing more than great fortune for our islands this upcoming year,” said Quitugua.
Quitugua, who earned her associate degree in Nursing from NMC’s Nursing Program in 2016, has already begun the initial stages of her platform as Miss Marianas 2016.
With the support of non-profit group Stellar Marianas, which runs the Miss Marianas program, Quitugua is looking forward to initiating a proclamation for the CNMI, one that will benefit the island youth and continue to grow for years to come.
