MHS Varsity still perfect in girls caging
Marianas High School Varsity is still unscathed in the 2019-2020 Public School System Interscholastic Girls High School Basketball League after notching three more wins last week at the MHS Gymnasium.
The Lady Dolphins are now 7-0 and remain on top of the team standings in the regular season after beating Grace Christian Academy and MHS Junior Varsity last Tuesday and Saipan Southern High School last Thursday.
Versus the Lady Eagles, MHS Varsity proved to be too much for the former, as the latter cruised to a 31-2 victory on the north court. The league-leading team had back-to-back games on the court, as it faced MHS JV and the varsity players showed no love lost to their fellow Lady Dolphins after taking a 28-21 win.
For its anticipated duel against the second-running Saipan Southern, MHS Varsity earned a double-digit winning margin, 29-19, to extend its winning streak to seven.
Meanwhile, four more matches were played last Tuesday with GCA managing to take a win out of its three games.
The Lady Eagles, after being demolished by MHS Varsity, nipped Kagman High School on the south court, 13-12. GCA remained on the south court for its third match of the day and was beaten by Agape Christian School, 27-22.
Agape before topping GCA, challenges Saipan Southern in the curtain-raiser on the south court and the Lady Rays eased their way to a 33-10 triumph.
On the north court, Mt. Carmel School outclassed Kagman, 16-9, denying the Lady Ayuyus entry to the win column.
