MGA July and August Ace tomorrow
Marianas Golf Association will make up for lost time as it holds the July and August Ace of the Month tournament this Saturday at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
“We are kind of late with our monthly Aces due to all the golf tournaments early this year and with the storm (Super Typhoon Yutu) that just hit us but we will be back on point soon as we have started to proceed with our double ace of the month format,” MGA official Calvin Yamagishi said in a press statement.
Meanwhile, MGA also had a double Ace of the month (May and June) last Dec. 2 on the east course of the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort with 14 members competing.
Sebastian Camacho went on to take the May Ace after posting a net 65. The 15-handicapper had a 39 and 41 on the front and back nines, respectively for a gross 80.
The other award (June Ace) at stake belonged to Ron Benavente, who carded a net 68 after registering a 43 in the first nine holes and 41 in the last. Benavente holds a 16 handicap and recorded a gross 84, finishing second to Gerald Guerrero, but the former ended up with the June Ace, as the latter had already won the April tournament. The 19-handicapper Guerreto fired a 38 and 44 on the front and back nines, respectively, for a net 63 and gross 82
In other results, Tony Satur, Sebastian Camacho, Patrick George, and Benavente were the closest to the winners on hole Nos. 4, 6, 11, and 15, respectively. (Saipan Tribune)
