MG Mall changing retail shopping on Saipan

MG Mall located in San Antonio opened its doors last Dec. 1 to offer the community a different kind of shopping experience. According to MG Mall president Jenny Cha, who has an experience operating a large shopping mall in Korea, their focus and is to select good and quality items and sell them at low prices.

“Opening a retail business has been a desire of mine and one of the reasons why I opened a mall on Saipan is that the island doesn’t have enough local shopping opportunities both offline and online…Over the years of living here, my observation is if a product is cheap, the quality is bad and if the quality is good, it’s too expensive,” she said.

“MG Mall wants to pursue is to have good items and distribute to customers at low prices… majority of the items that we have are useful and practical to everyday life,” she added.

Currently, MG Mall carries home appliances, kitchen supplies, Bluetooth speakers, sporting goods, stuffed toys, different kinds of lights especially solar light, diffusers, various fashion items, and many more. “Customers can reach us by going to the store and to our online store… The biggest consideration is what do people on Saipan need? That’s why we decided to provide items that are useful for people of whatever age and gender,” Cha said.

“In terms of pricing, our items range from $1 to $200… most items available on Saipan are made in China and the quality is often poor. MG Mall will sell quality products from Korea and sell them to the people of Saipan as inexpensive as possible,” Cha added.

Cha vows that customers will have a good shopping experience when they come to the mall. Aside from abiding to health and safety protocols set by the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force, the mall is well lit, spacious, and aims to promote positive experience during and after shopping.

“We have been living in the U.S for 20 years [now] and I know that every customer wants to be comfortable and items accessible… Since we have just started, we have products available in the store and still in the process of getting more and building inventory,” she said.

“Our vision for MG Mall in the next two or three years is that the community will know and rely on us to supply cheap and good quality products,” she added.
