Mendoza is new Bayani Association president
The Bayani Association has elected Leonila Mendoza as its new president during their induction of new officers and board of directors at the Club C in Kanoa Resort in Susupe last Feb. 14.
Besides Mendoza, the new officers for 2020-2021 are Yolanda Deramon as vice president, Mario Mayuga as secretary, Anastacia Mercado as treasurer, Ladyvir Canape as auditor, Alma Hilaria as press relations officer, and the marshals, who have the role as a sergeant-at-arms who calls meetings to order, are Samuel Justo, Teogenes Mendoza, Jaime Del Peralte, and Jojo Sotto.
The board of directors are made up of Fernando Enano, Nelida Atalig, Marie Meister, Lolita Velasco, Ronald de Ramos, Mayuga, Canape, and Mendoza.
The induction ceremony was hosted by Annamae Adaza.
In her acceptance speech, Mendoza said she was initially hesitant about accepting the role of leading the association but was convinced to do so after all members assured her of their support.
United Filipino Organizations president Marcelo Masilungan, who was also present at the induction, later reminded the Bayani Association members to always support the organization and to continue giving back to the community. He also thanked the association for supporting the UFO.
The Bayani Organization will be having its annual retreat during Lent, where they will also be assisting the UFO in providing support services on Good Friday, April 10, 2020, on Mt. Tapochau.
Members of the Bayani Association occupy different occupations in the CNMI and include sales representatives, engineers, government employees, bakers, accountants, administrative assistant, maintenance, landscapers, warehouse workers, choreographers, and caregivers, to name a few.
