New admissions portal and enrollment incentives offered

This week, Mount Carmel School announced that it had launched its new online admissions portal, just in time for families to enroll their children for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year. The new portal is facilitated by Rediker Software, a school administrative software company that works with schools in all 50 states and over 115 countries, including the CNMI’s Public School System. The school also announced continued enrollment incentives for the upcoming year.

New admissions portal
The new admissions portal is facilitated by Rediker’s Administrator’s Plus® software suite, a cloud-based student information software system that lets schools collect, manage, and analyze whatever student information they choose to track. According to the Rediker website, “Due to seamless integration with both our TeacherPlus gradebook and the ParentPlus web portal, Administrator’s Plus offers a complete, secure online solution.” The upgrade to Administrator’s Plus is part of the school’s broader efforts to upgrade its Student Information Management System, or SIMS.

School president Galvin Deleon Guerrero is very happy with the launch of the new portal. As he puts it, “It’s taken us over a year to transition to this new system, but now that we have, this will be a step up from what we used to have.” The old SIMS was a disconnected set of tools, such as School Minder, Engrade, and Microsoft Excel, that did not communicate or coordinate with one another. The new SIMS will integrate practically all aspects of student records, stakeholder communication, and progress monitoring.

“With this new system, parents can more easily monitor the progress of their children and communicate more effectively with the school,” Deleon Guerrero said. “Plus, once we have the system fully up and running, families will be able to pay their tuition and fees online, which will make things much easier for everyone.”

Enrollment incentives
In addition to the new admissions portal, the school announced that it will continue enrollment incentives that were offered this past 2014-2015 school year.

The first incentive is an Early Bird Registration Fee. Normally $400 per child, parents who pay the registration fee by May 15 will get a 50 percent discount on the fee, at only $200 per child.

The school will also continue family discounts for families that enroll more than one child. Families with two children can avail of a $600 discount for the second child, families with three children can avail of a $1,000 discount for the third child, and families with four children can avail of a $1,500 discount for the fourth child.

In addition, the school will once again offer up to $750 per student in scholarships and financial aid for qualified students. Scholarship and Financial Aid application forms will be available on May 18.

Lastly, the school announced that it would waive the $50 application fee per child for each application submitted online using the new admissions portal.
