In its ongoing efforts to further higher education in the CNMI, McDonald’s is offering a $5,000 hole-in-one prize for the upcoming 16th Annual Northern Marianas College Foundation Open Golf Tournament currently scheduled for Saturday, March 20, 2021. The first lucky golfer who makes a hole-in-one at the LaoLao Bay Golf and Resort’s hole No. 4 at the east course will win the $5,000 prize.
“We are going through hard economic times, but education is always number one for us,” said Mable Ayuyu-Glenn, executive assistant to the president of McDonald’s of Saipan. “We will not stop or cut funds when it comes to education. We are still here for education, no matter what.”
Originally scheduled to happen in 2019, the tournament was canceled because of the impact of Super Typhoon Yutu and was rescheduled for March of 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the tournament to be postponed again.
“McDonald’s has been a great supporter of Northern Marianas College for many, many years,” NMC interim president Frankie Eliptico said. “We are grateful for the company’s contribution to this year’s tournament.”
Meanwhile, Marianas Pacific Distributors recently donated $3,575 in cash, in-kind prizes, and beverages to NMC for this Saturday’s NMC Foundation Golf Tournament.
“We are proud to be able to support Northern Marianas College and its efforts to support higher education,” said Guy Pudney, resident manager of MARPAC. “I encourage other companies to support the College as well.”
