The islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota were brought together for the 13th Annual Sengebau Poetry Competition held at the American Memorial Park Visitors Center Theatre.
The recently concluded poetry competition was held in honor of the late Valentine N. Sengebau, a native of Palau who considered Saipan his home for the last 20 years of his life.
Junior-Division Poetry first place winner Jonathan Wolf was honored by Saipan McDonald’s Middle Road upon his recent visit to celebrate his accomplishment.
Wolf was welcomed by McDonald’s supervisor Mike Morales and his staff, who presented Wolf with a treat.
Wolf, also the CNMI’s first-ever Junior Speech and Debate champion at the recent National Speech and Debate Tournament held at Salt Lake City, Utah, often go to McDonald’s Middle Road with his family. “Sometimes after Mass we come here or when we have school achievements or competition winnings, we gather here at McDonald’s… it’s kind of our family go to, plus it’s near our house.”
The Wolf family thanks McDonald’s for its recognition of the children’s hard work and are humbled by their service.
