The Saipan Mayor’s Office is inviting interested applicants to join this year’s Kokusai Seishonen Kenshu Kyokai Japan trip in November, according to Mayor’s Office executive assistant Yuki Kishimoto.

This year’s KSKK Japan trip will be from Nov. 12 to 17. The deadline to submit the application form is Sept. 23.

Kishimoto said that applications could be picked up at the Saipan Mayor’s Office located at the Ladera Center on Beach Road San Jose, near the old Hakubotan building.

“[Participants] will be responsible for their airfare, Disneyland entrance fee, and pocket money. Lodging, meals, and transportation will be covered under KSKK,” she said.

The trip is limited to only 10 students and two chaperones. Kishimoto said the chaperone might be from the Mayor’s Office, but will provide an update later for any changes.

It is available to students from any schools from fifth grade to 12th grade.

“They will be staying with the host families just for the weekends during the stay and the rest of the days will be at the youth center of the school,” she said.

The most recent homestay was from KSKK or Tokyo’s International Youth Association of Japan that arrived on July 28 and left on Aug. 5 due to Typhoon Soudelor canceling their flights, which was originally planned for departure on Aug. 3.

For more details, interested individuals can get applications at the Saipan Mayor’s Office at the Ladera Center on Beach Road or call Kishimoto at 234-6208, 234-6280, and 235-7304.
