Matansa whips Kanoa in girls U15

Matansa Football Club pummeled Kanoa FC, 7-0, in the girls U15 division of the 2014 NMIFA Spring Youth Football League last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.
Three Matansa players scored two goals apiece to power the squad to the easy win. Barbara Peteru made twin goals and Lyka Sally and Maile Aldrich duplicated her feat to demolish Kanoa FC. Jezreelyn Bulaklak nailed the other goal for Matansa, breaking the ice in the opening 10 minutes of the first half. Sally drilled the second goal, while Peteru and Aldrich canned the last two to give Matansa a 4-0 halftime advantage. Kanoa FC failed to counter attack in the second half, while Sally, Aldrich, and Peteru lit up the board anew to complete the lopsided win.
In two other games last Saturday, Shirley’s FC edged Tan Holdings, 2-1, while MP United and Paire had a draw, 2-2.
Diana Maniacop logged the winning goal for Shirley’s FC, as she scored in the 62nd minute. Earlier in the 48th minute, De Jana Muna found the back of the net to tie the game, 1-all. Tan Holdings took the 1-0 halftime lead off Mary Kay Alferos’ goal in the 20th minute, but failed to keep the lead after going cold in the second half.
In the last game at the Hopwood pitch, Renita Fleming recorded a pair of goals for Paire to force the standoff against MP United. The Paire midfielder had one goal apiece in the first and second half, while MP United got its first goal from Karleen Reyes in the first 45 minutes of play and the second in the last frame from Gilliam Villagomez.
BOYS U15
Paire FC 5, Shirley’s
FC 0
In last Saturday’s boys U15 game at the Oleai Sports Complex Field, Paire shut out Shirley’s FC.
Ivan Seo led Paire’s win, as he bagged two goals. Logan Mister, Saixian Bagsic, and Allen Hinson chipped in one apiece. Seo put Paire in the board early with his goal in the third minute, while Mister gave the team a 2-0 edge after hitting his target in the 20th. Paire then closed out the half with a 3-0 advantage after Bagsic scored in the 25th and started the second with back-to-back goals from Seo and Hinson.
In the other boys U15 game last Friday, MP United edged Matansa, 1-0.
Michael Lee drilled the lone goal in the match, as he scored in the 24th minute.
BOYS U18
MP United 6, Paire 1
In the first boys U18 match, also at the Oleai pitch, MP United stretched its winning run to five after crushing Paire, 6-1.
Tanapon Unsa and Jehn Joyner tallied two goals each in the one-sided match, while Jireh Yobech and Brian Lee contributed one apiece. Ethan Dickenson earned the lone goal for Paire.
Joyner opened the scoring for MP United with his goal in the third minute, while Yobech made it to the board one minute before the first half ended. Unsa then widened the gap with his two straight goals (58th and 70th), while Joyner made it a 5-0 lead with his second goal in the 73rd. Finally, Paire broke its silence with Dickinson’s goal in the 80th, but MP United still had the last say off Lee’s shot two minutes before the match concluded.
In the other boys U18 tiff, Tan Holdings also had an easy victory against Matansa, 8-0.
Sean Perez had a hat-trick for Tan Holdings, while Junsik Kim, Joshua Galario, and Yoshi Mafnas added one goal apiece.
