Matansa Football Club moved up to the solo lead in the girls U15 division of the 2015 NMIFA Youth Fall League following a 2-0 victory over MP United last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.

Lyka Sally, who drilled six goals in their 14-0 demolition of Tan Holdings in the opening week of the fall season, returned to the Hopwood pitch after Week 2 matches were called off due to Tropical Storm Champi and still led Matansa, scoring two goals. She found his target early, knocking in her first goal right in the opening minute of the match, while her second came in 19 minutes to give Matansa a division-best 2-0-0 win-draw-loss record.

MP United had no answer to Sally in the entire match to absorb its first loss this season after beating Paire FC in the opener, 4-0.

Paire played in the first game in the division at Hopwood’s Pitch 2 and avoided a second straight defeat after forcing a 2-2 draw against Shirley’s FC.

Renita Fleming registered the equalizer for Paire, which got its other goal from Guinevere Borja, while Shirley’s, which won its opener against Kanoa, 2-0, drew goals from Diana Maniacop and Jobelle Tabuena.

Over at Pitch 1, Tan Holdings bounced back from the bad beating its suffered at the hands of Matansa after shutting down Kanoa, 4-0.

Chloe Salvosa led Tan Holding’s first win this season after making a hat-trick, while Britanny Wally recorded the other goal. All of Tan Holdings’ goals came in the second half with Salvosa nailing back-to-back in the 48th and 52nd and logging her third in the 69th, one minute after Wally lit up the board anew.
