Matansa Football Club dominated MP United Footbal Club-1, 4-0, in the Novice Division game in the Dove Women’s Fall League 2021.

Mary Cris Ta knocked in two goals to lead Matansa’s easy victory in the Oct. 24 match at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville. Ta scored her first goal in the ninth minute and the second in the 40th, while Khankaew Baothiang and Elaine Sablan hit the board in the 28th and 50th, respectively.

In other results in the division, TanHoldings-1 and TanHoldings-2 notched close victories, while MP United-2 also ended up on the winner’s circle of the weekend competition.

MP United 2 downed Shirley’s FC, 3-1, behind the two goals of Erlinda Shimizu. MP United-2 drew first blood early with Shimizu connecting on her shot in the ninth minute. Yoshiko Song made it a 2-0 lead with her goal 10 minutes later, while Shimizu got another one before the first half ended when she scored in the 22nd. MPU-2 kept the 3-0 advantage in the majority of the second half before a late goal from Magdalena Flores in the 47th minute ended Shirley’s long silence.

In the TanHoldings-2 and Paire duel, the former got an own goal in the second half to pull off a 2-1 win. Rosreeann Deleon Guerrero made the lone goal for TanHoldings, while Linday Nash scored for Paire.

In another tight game, TanHoldings-2 banked on Jasmin Manangan’s goal in the 23rd minute to edge Kanoa, 1-0.

PREMIER DIVISION

TanHoldings 8, Shirley’s 2

TanHoldings also triumphed in the Premier Division match last Oct. 27 after hammering Shirley’s in the curtain-raiser of the double-header.

Allyssya Angeles fired four straight goals and ended up making five to lift TanHoldings to victory—its third in as many games. Jenny Capayas, Kaithynn Chavez, and Jannah Casarino contributed one goal apiece in the lopsided win that also helped TanHoldings keep the No. 1 spot in the team standings.

Alexa Vergara and Jasmin Phan made the twin goals for Shirley’s, which absorbed its second loss against only one victory.

Kanoa 4, Paire 0

In the other match in the division, Kanoa coasted past Paire.

Khristelle Itaas registered two goals for the winning team, while Paulyn Joyce and Irish Pagarao chipped in one apiece. Kanoa got its second victory in three games to remain in second place, while Paire has yet to break into the win column this season.

Meanwhile, games in the Dove Women’s Fall League 2021 are still suspended due to the recent COVID-19 cases in the community.
