Masaharu, Lebria are still softball batting leaders

Darwin Masaharu and Liz Lebria remain the men’s and women’s divisions batting leaders in the ongoing Belau Softball League held every Sunday at the Capital Hill Ballfield.

Masaharu, as of May 17, is batting .695 with John Pialur closely behind at .680. Payton Sakuma is at third with .666 while Joseph Celis and Julian Camacho are tied from fourth to fifth spots with .650 each.

Tom Camacho leads the lower half with .625 while Mark Toves, Poland Yamada, and Max Kadiasang are in a group with .600. Mike Sablan (.578), Jeff Cabrera (.571), and Ben Hocog (.550) complete the men’s batting leaders.

Oscar Sablan, Taylor Germance, Isaia Masao, and Charley Kenty have the most doubles with three each, while 13 players are tied with 13 triples. Joseph Celis and Brel Kodeb had already blasted five home runs each, while Jerry Ayuyu belted four.

Tom Camacho and Sakuma are tied with the most number of runs with 12 apiece, while Germance and Julian Camacho scored 11 each.

Tom Camacho, who is second behind Joseph Celis’ 15 RBIs with 14, is the current strikeouts leader with 19, while Mike Sablan has already posted a 2.96 ERA in 33 innings pitched.

Lebria is leading the women’s division with .761 to enjoy a .130 lead over Catalina Dela Cruz and Didi Towai’s .631, while Eddilyn Benjamin, Pauline Camacho, Erlinda Naputi, Rachel Salalila, and Keolani Rios are in fourth to seventh place with .625, .590, .578, .560, and .526, respectively.

Brenda Camacho and Erin Mendiola are tied with .525 each, while Sonia Isaac is the last female to bat in .500. Juliana Ngeskebei (.481), Thelma Mizer (.478), Kuki Pangelinan (.473), and Jenny Scaliem (.473) complete the list.

Pangelinan is the current doubles leader with three, while Julie Omar and Catalina Dela Cruz are tied with the most triples with three apiece. Bert Camacho topped the most runs category with 16, while Mizer had already drove in 11 runs.

Pauline Camacho is the lone player to hit a home run, as she had already whacked four round-trippers this season. Felina Brel is the current strikeouts queen with 31, while Pina Guerrero had already posted 2.21 ERA.
