As the Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games 2022 draws nearer, businesses continue to come out in support with Marianas Distributors Inc. the latest silver sponsor, donating $25,000 to the games yesterday at the Marpac office in Gualo Rai.
Guy Pudney, resident manager of Marpac, together with James Lee, sales and marketing manager of Marpac, turned over the check yesterday, with $15,000 in cash donation and $10,000 in-kind donations to the Mini Games Organizing Committee.
Pudney said during the check presentation that Marpac’s donation was delayed because of a death in the company, but they’re just glad that they were able to do so. He also thanked the organizing team for their hard work in preparation for the games.
Mini Games Organizing Committee CEO Vicente “Ben” Babauta said the generous cash and in-kind donations of Marpac will go a long way to provide the athletes, guests, and visitors a wonderful experience.
“Thank you very much on behalf of the staff and management of the Pacific Mini Games and of course the organizing committee and the entire MMI for your support. The $25,000 will definitely be used. As a host we also have our responsibility on accommodation, transportation, and catering so it will definitely be well in use for those three avenues,” said Babauta.
The first of the countries will be coming in soon, with Fiji making their way here on June 9, with the rest of the countries coming in on June 14 to 15.
Marco Peter, who chairs the MGOC, thanked Marpac “on behalf of our game organizing committee, and administration and government, we appreciate this contribution that you have for us and it’s gonna go a long way… This gift will go a very long way to support us to deliver the games”.
