Marpac hosts 4th Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Fair

Marpac Inc. held its 4th Annual Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies (and Daddies Too!) Fair last Saturday at the Hibiscus Hall of the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, with 15 agencies and organizations participating to promote awareness of products and services readily available for the health and welfare of families.

Participants included the Children’s Developmental Assistance Center Early Intervention, H.O.M.E. Visiting Program, CNMI Humanities: Motheread/Fatheread Program and Joeten Kiyu Public Library, Department of Public Safety, American Red Cross NMI Chapter, Commonwealth Cancer Association, Division of Public Health-Oral Health Program, Green Meadows School, Golden Harvest International School & Day Care, Smart Start Daycare, Northern Marianas International School, NMC Nursing Club, and Island Smiles Dental.

The fair featured crowd favorites such as the Huggies baby crawling contest, Cottonelle diaper making contest, pass the Huggies diaper contest and Huggies baby costume pageant.

Juslynn Arlette Leon Guerrero Mizutani and her interpretation of a Swan Flower Fairy with parents Sandy Nicole Leon Guerrero and Justin Mizutani took the winning title in the 2015 Huggies Diaper Costume Pageant.

Contest judges included Gerard Toves, Ambros territory business manager; Donna Krum, president of Island Smiles Dental; and CDAC Early Intervention teacher Jonisa Sanchez.

Saipan Music & Dance Studio, Golden Harvest, Green Meadow, Smart Start, and Uncle Ben’s Studio staged several performances, while the American Red Cross NMI Chapter demonstrated CPR techniques to prepare families in the event of an emergency.

Marpac Inc. would like to express its gratitude for the support of all the organizations that participated and for the donations by the CNMI Books & Resource Center, Smart Start Nurturing Center, Early Intervention Service, CNMI Motheread/Fatheread and Joeten Kiyu Public Library, and Green Meadow School.
